Mission Statement

Picture
The purpose of this website is to express my anger over DC's continued decision to apply strict rules to Supergirl's dress and behavior while not applying these standards to a single other character.  It is also a place where I can vent my frustration with bloggers who raise a hissy fit if anyone calls Supergirl "pretty" yet feel free to talk about the abs, chest, and biceps of males flying around in their underwear.  Overall, the goals are to get DC to end the hypocrisy, get rid of those ugly undershorts, and return Supergirl to the wonderful, fun, and sexy character she was in the first 18 issues of the current series.  Those of us Supergirl fans who continue to be pissed off by the undershorts and Supergirl's lack of hormones, spirit, and personality need to keep up our angered posts and let them know their gender double standards and anti-Supergirl witch hunt will never be tolerated.   Please, check out the reviews sections as well as other sections as they are added.

Myself

I have been a dedicated Supergirl fan since around the time the movie came out and she began wearing her red skirted costume.  Being a Supergirl fan, I have become accustomed to more downs than ups.  The first major downer was DC's terrible decision to kill off the first Kara in COIE.  If DC had not killed Kara off and had let her continue fighting crime in the popular movie version of the costume, the current problems would probably have never happened.  Another major downer occurred when Peter David's Linda character, which began on a really strong note, began to be victimized by numerous bad decisions.  The book never looked as good after Gary Frank left.  If DC had followed Frank up with Greg Land, who did the art in two strong issues, things would've been somewhat better.  Instead, Linda sprouted wings and became uglier, began wearing the animated costume, and was joined by an insultingly awful version of Kara.

After all of these downers, however, I was thrilled to learn that DC was reintroducing Kara Zor El.  Through the first 18 issues, she was DC's most interesting character.  Sales were high, the art was wonderful, and her personality had never been more interesting.  I consistently defended this character and artists and writers from Supergirl haters.  Then, DC double crossed me and every other Supergirl fan who felt the same way.  Suddenly they brought in a fat Supergirl with shorts under her skirt.  Her power levels and intelligence levels were decreased.  She no longer spoke up for herself.  DC decided that Supergirl, a character who has always had a girl next door kind of sex appeal, now had to have zero sex appeal.  Meanwhile, female characters that are butt and boob shows and male characters with ridiculously tight clothing all stayed the same.  Needless to say, I was and have been pissed ever since.  I have not purchased Supergirl or any other DC title in quite some time.  Considering how much I looked forward to Supergirl returning and how much I was enjoying the book,
it has been annoying (to say the least) to boycott my favorite character.
