Back to the issue 1-19 Uniform

Picture
This is the biggest upskirt shot of Supergirl during issues 1-19.  Honestly, even in this shot she is showing less than most superheroines.  Most superheroines wear bottoms the size of those briefs.  They have no skirt or cape to help cover.  And Supergirl has what? A handful of panels at most in an issue where her skirt would be in this position?  Furthermore, Supergirl shows no cleavage.  There is honestly nothing wrong with this image.  Is it sexy?  Yes.  Is it anything to go nuts about compared with Power Girl's costume and body type or the male body types and their tight costumes?  Of course not.  This is what Supergirl should look like.  It is clear there is a double standard with Supergirl and she is the victim of a witchhunt.  You can point to a number of super males and females whose costumes are more revealing.  You can point to a number of younger super males and females whose costumes are more revealing.  You could point to numerous occassions wear people wearing the "S" have revealed more of their bodies.  That DC censored this while leaving all their other characters the same is a major reason why I will not buy any DC products.  As soon as the undershorts are gone, I'll be back

The Movie Version of the Costume

Picture
This solution makes so much sense, it almost hurts.  The people who absolutely hate the undershorts would prefer to see a return to this costume.  The people who defend the undershorts actually also prefer this costume to the current "shorts under skirt" version of the costume.  First off, Supergirl wears a one piece under the skirt.  No panties.  Secondly, the bottom is a brief cut.  No horrible, ugly, appearance killing undershorts underneath.  If DC looks at fans who dress up as Supergirl, artwork produced and requested on comic art sites, and polls conducted, this is by far the most popular version of Supergirl's costume.  It's fun, it's sexy, it's iconic.  Giving Supergirl this costume, exactly as it was presented in the movie or in the 90's Matrix/Linda issues (I prefer the movie boots, though), would go a long ways to solving DC's headaches and stopping the constant scream fest that happens everywhere Supergirl is mentioned.  Why is DC so slow in making this change?  Do they want this character to fail?
